anyone know if the truck will start if I just unplug the TCM?
based on my research from other tcm related issues, it sounds like the TCM actually plays a part in the starting sequence. i would expect the pcm would not let the truck start if there was no/incorrect data/signal coming from the TCM.

if you went with a new TCM and still no start then id expect there is actually an issue with the harness. also curious if there is a way to flash/reset the TCM as it may have a code/error locked in the memory from when the harness was arcing...

some more content in regards to possible issue with the harness. if there is possibly something wrong with the fuel related wires... if you havnt yet id break out the multimeter and start tracing wire continuity, i bet you have a broken wire somewhere.

Damn! I hate to state the obvious man. But your gonna have a 1000HP new engine on a stand and there you will be holding a harness in one hand and a TCM module in another hand, saying F___ Me!

Any luck with the TCM self test? I’d find it hard to believe the motor would spin over without knowing what state the transmission is in, if it couldn’t communicate to the TCM if disconnected.

the truck cranks, but wont start. I only got the U1013 once. previously, it would crank, but not start and would not throw any codes at all.

I also get a sporadic " invalid signal from bcm"

I know you have but you have checked all fuses? I just recently had and issue with my truck. One of the harnesses rubbed on the block and rubbed through and grounded out a few things. I had low oil pressure light, no AC, no electric fans. I checked everywhere and had it towed to dealership. They found a blown fuse that lead them to the short cause everytime they put a new fuse in it would blow. I looked a half dozen times at fuses and never seen a blown fuse.
Are you getting fuel?
