Anyone do 35's

Like the rest are saying. Stock tires are a metric version of a 35 inch tire, and all BFG tires are undersized a little. I just bought 35x12.5R17 KM3's and some Method rims. Can't want to get them installed! You won't get rub as much from tire size as from rim width and offset. I know some guys running 37's no problem on stock rims at mid-perch, some having removed the pinch welds to be safe. The same tires on Method rims like mine will smash into your fenders under compression, even with the pinch welds removed (along with some plastic on the lower rear portion of the front fenders). Method Mesh rims like mine have a 0 offset. That puts the wheels about 1.5" further out—no bueno on 37" tires without a healthy dose of fender mods. If you run only street though, you are pretty safe on 37's with minor mods.

Hi KRock4x4, I just installed the Nitto Ridge Grapplers in 35x12.5x17 last month and had to go to a Method Double Standard Wheel as the offset on the stock wheels are not enough to prevent serious rubbing when turning. Even with the considerable offset difference between the two wheels my tires still rub when turned stop to stop, as seen in the photo.

Wait. Your Nittos rubbed on the stock rims? Those 35s are about the same size as stock tires (like about 1/4 inch in diameter or 1/8 inch working clearance!). That's really weird—first I have ever heard of a stock tire rubbing. Sure there isn't some other issue?

I can understand getting some rubbing with the Methods, because they push the tire out by 1.5", creating a longer arc, and pushing them into the fender like that. That's especially true if your wheels are wider than stock, combined with the offset difference.

Stock tires never rubbed, you misread something there. Guy I met had the Nitto 35's on the stock rims and rubbing had him looking at different wheels. It wasn't a big deal to me because I didn't like the look of the stock wheels anyway - too tucked for my taste.

You said Nitto Ridge Grapplers in 35x12.5x17 rubbed. Those are the same size as stock.

OK, I'm picking up what you're putting down. Like I said, I can't tell you first hand what the Nitto's would have done on my stock wheels on my truck as I didn't have that configuration, but after speaking with the other Raptor owner about his experience it was all I needed to justify what I wanted anyway (to get rid of the stock wheels!). Is it possible a guy with enough character and wisdom to purchase a Ford Raptor fed me a line of crap?? I refuse to believe it!

35" General Grabber X3s on stock rims, stock height. No rubbing, seem to fill out the wheel wells more than the BFG stockers. And they grab like crazy in the dirt.
