Anyone consider/test drive a TRX, Gen 2 vs. Gen 3 Raptor, and Raptor R?

What package? I was a click away from ordering a Level 2 TRX from Koons for $89k, just two months ago. $103k sounds like the special edition Sand package or whatever it's called
If you fully load up a 2023 TRX on the builder website msrp is 103ish even without sandblast / ignition edition

That's accurate, but you're not taking into account that ordering a TRX can be had for $9k under msrp at several large dealerships (Granger and Koons being 2). The Raptor R is going to have an ADM of $50k over the $100k msrp and it's never going to be a high-production truck, so price improvement is not going to get any better. You can't just go sticker vs sticker, it needs to be real-world how much will you have to pay.

I understand, just mentioning that might be what the previous poster was trying to reference

$30k…..a comparably equipped msrp TRX is more like a $5 difference, and that’s a 22.View attachment 375741View attachment 375741View attachment 375741
A like for like build against a base Raptor R is under 100k. Only way to get to 104k is by adding accessories like the tire carrier. With sunroof added to make it exactly the same as a loaded Raptor R, you're at $101k. So 10-13k difference from the start not including ADM and discounts available on TRX orders.

Normally if you wait out production for a few years after a model is first introduced, the market dries out some and production catches up. Then discounts at the lot happens and maybe invoice. That’s how it was with the Raptors, until the pandemic set in.

Today parts shortages, limited amounts of many vehicles being produced, inflation and father climate control are knocking on the door. It’s anyone’s guess if semi good times come back around or these trucks start getting the axe.

Obviously if you have the money get want you want today. I have a feeling you will have to plug in your TRX before you do a Raptor however.
