Other mystery will be the steering rack. Hydro or elect? I'm betting elect. The variable steering wheel effort feel that the elect offers could be incorporated into the terrain modes.

I wanna say everything but the super dutys use a EPAS rack (electric-power-assisted-steering). The 5.0 never had the space for a power steering pump. There are aftermarket kits out there to add a pump for hot rod conversions/swaps. I believe the Eco family is the same way, where space for a pump was not part of the plan. The 6.2 and diesel both have provisions for a pump, hence why the Raptor still had hydro steering at the end when every other f150 switched. I think mpg was the biggest push for EPAS. They also have the tuning down pretty well where the effort and road feed back feels real, or at least that's what most people think. Some elect racks are really ****** feeling but Ford has it pretty dialed in.

The super duty still uses the old reliable rugged hydro gear box. Part of that is also because it's still a solid front end.

I think if they can keep the rack unit from getting hot, it should be an upgrade.

Doesnt the 2016 have electric power steering? The new 'pro trailer backup assist' comes from using electric power steering. The 2017 Raptor has the trailer backup assist...

The previous EB Gen1 F150's had electric steering and I didn't hear anything bad about the electric power steering other than if there is a problem it is far more expensive to repair vs. the hydraulic setup.

The PS on the '10-'14 Raptors suck. Anything different has to be better...
