What’s the reason? Seriously I have no idea, not interested in doing this but I don’t see what the issue would be - I just assume Ford made it that way to keep the sound down & not sound obnoxious to most prospective buyers
Keeps the PCV system closed loop and keeps the turbos spinning so the boost comes back faster between shifts or if you lift off the gas and get back into it.

BOV noise is a testament to performance turbocharged vehicles. There’s a reason you have to vent to atmosphere with high performance IC upgrades like SVC’s.
