I know about the shocks, seats and some littler knick-knacks... But I could get a 18, well optioned Raptor for around 65K out the door, vs 68-69k for 2019. The 2019 is msrp… they don't want to go under... yet.

Just curious if there's something that's a MUST HAVE on the raptor that was offered in 2019?

Thank you!

resale value. look up the resale of a 2018 with 4k miles and a 2019 with 4k miles.

2020's will be out before you know it...

I bought last week of october 2018. My research for me said no, 2018 was fine.

That being said.....

if i were to actually take my truck off road and do off roady type stuff......yes...2019 live valve shocks and extra drive modes and rock crawl cruise control would be "worth it".

But since this is the extent of my of road experience. 2018 for me.

HA! That's funny. I'm not planning on doing any off-roading... Everything I own, ends up being a garage queen... However, i'm hoping a raptor would become a daily. It's time to replace my 200k Mile Explorer.

Thank you.

I see, you're also in STL... Which dealer did you get yours from?

Bommarito in Hazelwood. I traded in a 2014 Explorer Sport, and a 2015 SQ5 in one night and came home with an 18 Explorer Sport and the 18 Raptor.

They were super easy to deal with and gave me what I wanted for the Audi with no hassle.

FWIW, I had a 2018 that I traded in on my 2019 and couldn't be happier I did it. My 2019 just runs and feel better overall. The transmission on my 2018 just never felt right and had all kinds of issues with delayed/harsh shifting. I had updates done to it numerous times to try to fix it, but maybe it is just luck of the draw. My 2019 shifts snappy and I don't experience the harsh shifts like I did before. Maybe it is only the transmission, but it also feels more peppy than my 2018 did. Only thing I don't care for on the 2019 is the stupid cloth inserts on the seats. My dogs shed a lot and the inserts catch quite a bit of hair and I am not sure how well they will hold up over time.

Same reason I didn't get the recaros, harder to clean and not the best material for a daily driver as it starts to show it's age sooner than I would like. It's great on my STi as it keeps you from slipping on the seat. But I don't think the Raptor will be going around corners the same.

Why not get the gen3 since that will not be too far off? Getting a 19 over 17/18 is trivial, but the gen3 will be enough different that many will want that instead.
