Quick slight aside. When speaking of catless, is that capable of passing emissions inspection? Why do I think not.

I think its great you are trying to help develop new parts for the Raptor, but take a moment to know your audience.

The weight savings to cost isnt worthwhile. There are many many manufacturers already making exhausts for the Raptor, and these systems already save weight over stock. Now going titanium, the benefit of this system will be additional weight savings, but I dont think most Raptor/truck owners care that much about weight savings. Most people I know that get titanium exhaust only do it for bragging rights.

Imagine how upset someone will be spending $5k on an exhaust and it ends up sounding crappy or there is quality control issues. You will take some heat for that, since you facilitated the deal. Sorry I sound really negative but it just sounds like a bad idea overall. Just my opinion.

Im not sure i buy the "IIt doesnt need weigh reduction becasue people already add more weight" argument.

Isnt that an argument FOR needing to shave some weight?

Ti exhaust on a Raptor seems pointless to me, as well. The weight savings will be small compared to the overall weight of our trucks and I can think of a LOT of mods I could do for $5K that will suit my truck better than a "lighter" exhaust.

If you have the money, I say go for it, but it is not for me.

Again, the argument of "it doesn't need weight savings because it is heavy" argument is super asinine to me....

Hey guys. I appreciate the feedback and all but if you aren’t interested or don’t think it’s a good idea that is fine but that’s your opinion so doesn’t really make sense to post in a thread asking for those who are interested.

I’m buying a catless Ti exhaust and shaving as much weight off my truck over time as I add more weight to it so that hopefully in the end I will be at or below OEM weight when traveling without a fully loaded down truck. If I ever load down my bed full of stuff for off roading then I’ll still be lighter than if I hadn’t put her on a diet. Plus when new larger stock location turbos need the free flow of the system they will be very happy. I’ll only be paying marginally more for a Ti system than purchasing another and upgrading it.

I have never said this will cost $5000 for one and I purchased a $75,000 truck that I spend thousands on upgrades for as it is. I just don’t get it sometimes. There isn’t a Raptor Tax like with most other high performance vehicles so Im taking advantage of it. A freaking tune and nice intake on most high performance vehicles costs more than what I believe this system will ultimately cost you all, maybe not me but you all.

Bests
Alex

No way the stock sliders weigh 300#, probably not even half of that. Would be interested in them though...

Yea I didn’t think so either until a member on here said he was sure they were that heavy when he took them off. But either way still savings to be had for sure.

I never said it doesn't need weight reduction. I'm just saying the cost to reduce the weight is not worthwhile. I am all for reducing weight but it has to be cost effective. There's alot of other mods you can do to save weight as well. I'm not putting TI lugnuts on my truck because I don't think its worthwhile. If it is to you then great its your money spend it how you like. I don't want people thinking they will get a noticeable difference by doing any of these weight reduction mods.

Agreed. If we are talking a MB C63 AMG or other performance vehicles the expense would be justified. Akraprovic make a legit Ti exhaust for the C63 that is bonkers but it costs $5k+ for a catback with no tips. Now spending 5k on lighter wheels and tires WILL be a noticeable improvement ;)

Two ways to look at it. If you have a sniff test, then no, it won't pass. If you are lucky enough to live in an area that just looks for a CEL, then you would pass no problem (assuming you were able to turn off the light in the tune).
