Going on a 3,000 mi road trip so figured I would get my 1st oil change at 2,000 miles today from the dealer. I happened to notice the technician (??) having an issue getting my Raptor into the service bay put did not pay it a lot of attention. As I was leaving I happened to notice pretty Ford blue paint on my drivers side front bumper! The sob had hit a bollard and scraped the hell out of my bumper. THEN on top of that I see that the drivers side running board is scraped down past the metal. So go back in, get the manager. The tech denies everything. We go over to the lift and lo and behold there is the coating from my running board on the lift upright. Gee, how did that get there??? Needless to say the dealer is getting me a new set of running boards and fixing the bumper. (not real worried about the bumper have an ADD bumper on order.

While it bothers me some that it happened it is called an accident, not an on purpose but to try to ignore it and then act like it did not happen ****** me off!

I have read on the forum of this happening to others. One would think that the dealer would have some of the better techs but not so.

Bottom line the techs are not aware of the Raptors width.

I think I would've kicked the tech square in the nutz and then deny that I did it. It's one thing if they come clean but lying is unacceptable.

The dealer is only as good as the people they hire. I worked for a dealer 15 years. Seen many techs come and go. Some were exceptional others were worthless. Next time you go in,if you go back. Ask the service writer who is the best tech. And always request him if you are satisfied with him. Jack

I always told my shop guys if you damage it -own up to it. I understand nobody is perfect, but if you lie to me or a customer, rent a trailer because there is a good chance your tool box is going home with you.
I hate spineless guys like that.
Reminds me of a friend's dealership experience. They managed to tear off his passenger side mirror & dually fender & cover that whole side of his truck with mud. Then they denied that they did it.

here, on frf
ask them for a loaner while yours is in the shop getting repaired. then go enter the baja 500 and return it to them afterwards. tell them you just used it to commute to work

.

+1. That takes a special kind of POS to trash somebody else's stuff and then lie about it. Hope that ********* lost his job.

First time I went for an oil change, the svc writer made a real point with his tech about the width and being careful pulling onto the lift.

Sorry to hear about that.

Do not walk away without them fixing the bumper. They scuffed it, so they should fix it. If you decide to sell it or even out of principle

Sorry to hear that, but it sounds like they are taking care of you. You should get a loaner out of this, but there is no way they give you a raptor. My dealership has been great for service the three times I've taken the truck in.

Benefit of the doubt, the damage wasn't horrendous. I'm guessing the technician didn't know he did it. As long as the dealer fixes it like new, its hard to complain.

Besides fixing the damage the tech did, hopefully they comp'd the oil change for your troubles (that is if they really care about customer service).
