Android Auto and Waze

So when I first plug my phone into the usb, waze automatically pops up on screen?
Is there a setting to stop this?
Also, when waze is up on screen, am I able to switch it to a split screen view like the factory navigation?

When Android auto boots up, it defaults to the nav screen. As far as I know there's no way around it. The only setting you can alter is the default nav app - Waze or Google Maps.

There is no split screen option.

You can keep Android Auto from starting up entirely as soon as you plug in too
