Alpharex Pro Series Lights

Hey Folks, 1st posting here.

Bought the Alpharex Pro Series, not doing my research beforehand, and have noticed the beam pattern and lack of open projection. Replaed the halogens with LEDs and they are spotty at best. My question comes in now. Has any one used them and installed a HID Kit and had better luck in the lighting capabilities? Looking at the Morimoto aftermarket HID Kit as I saw a few reviews on them.

Appreciate it. Still new to this truck and tinkering little by little.

on my alpha rexs on the ranger i i had to try a few LEDs out until i liked the pattern.

Put an HID kit on my SVT lightning and love it, i like them over LEDs

I've done a few headlight conversions using the retrofit source parts and the morimoto projectors. I have a 2011 with OEM halogens so with the HID conversion you need the ballasts and wire harness and for the most part they worked great, until they didn't. I've had ballast and wire harness and bulbs go out on me over the years. Then they started flickering very slightly. Maybe because they were in an OEM halogen housing and they are cantilevered out quite a bit so maybe they shake a little? IDK. I then upgraded to morimoto LED projectors and retrofitted some OEM projector housings. I have to make an adapter for the LED projector but it sits much more secure in the housing and the LED are much simpler and less parts to fail. I've had them in my truck for the last 3 years and haven't had a single issue. If you're willing to do a retrofit, I'd go with the LED. Its a little more expensive than HID but its worth the reliability.
