Hello from Santa Barbara,

I ordered a 2012 SCREW in October of 2011. These past 5 months have seemed like one of the longest 3-5 week waits of my life but supposedly I get my VIN on Monday.

The Raptor will be replacing a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee that's served me well but is going to retire to a good home. My other vehicle is a 1946 CJ2A that's lived a hard life and is in need of some TLC before it can hit the trail again. I'm more familiar with slow speed four-wheeling on rocks, but I'm looking forward to broadening my horizons when my truck arrives.

Got my VIN and delivery date

Thanks for the welcome messages.

True to their word, the dealer finally provided my VIN and delivery date. It looks like I'll be able to pick up my truck on Easter, which is a little ironic to me. At least the uncertainty is over and I have a firm date to look forward to. Now I just need to decide if I want to order Deaver +2 and Outlaw bumps right away or not...

It's Here!

I drove out to Santa Maria today, picked up my Raptor, and stopped to take some pictures on the way home. Five minutes after parking it in the parking lot at work someone was already taking pictures of it.

My wife and I are going out of town this weekend and I know the manual says not to drive it at a constant speed for an extended period during the first 1000 miles. Do you folks think that varying my speed between 60 and 75 will provide sufficient variation for proper break-in of all the components? I've read a lot of differing opinions on the break-in process and this is my first new vehicle.

Your stop and go driving will help with break in. And quite honestly you won't be able to contain yourself from driving fast. Stop at LineX in SM and get your bed done you'll love it.
