Adjust the steering wheel? As in remove it and try to rotate the wheel? Unpossible. You fix a good alignment but an uncentered steering wheel by adjusting the tie rods.

The steering angle sensor will then be wacked, so the systems that use the signal will be ****** as well. The steering wheel (unless removed by the *********) will be centered when the rack is centered. They should then adjust the tie rods until the toe is correct and the steering wheel will be centered. Dang, thank you for this. I’ll probably just end up going somewhere else. I don’t feel like arguing with this shop and then trusting them to work on my truck. Any recommendations for an alignment shop in SoCal?

So they didn’t have the numbers and the guy said it wasn’t the alignment and it was the rack and pinion..? He said to bring it back and he’d adjust the steering wheel. Debating on taking it back or taking it somewhere else.

I have eibachs, deaver +3’s and svc bumps and tie rods. I had my alignment done post install.. .

Steering wheel has to be to the left to go straight. Is it still off or is the road crown? Truck drives awesome and right but I feel my alignment is off. Do I need different bolts or a slot delete kit? I’ve read some issues with alignment post eibachs.

Something that you could do for free is to drive down roads with different crowns to see how that affects the wheel position. Do you have any 4 lane divided highways that you can drive on? The left lane would likely have the opposing crown that would let you compare to. Also you could aplit the crown or find a back road with negligible crown to compare. You could also pull some tape to see if it is a measurable difference.

Worth the read to familiarize yourself with what each portion of the alignment does to handling. Long story short other things can cause a pull than just toe adjustment.

Are you sure when he said he would adjust the steering wheel, that he didn't mean he was going to adjust the tie rods? Sometimes people skip the technical explanation to customers. I know I have in the engineering world.

I had some operators that loved to call suction cups "suckers". After years, it just became easier to use their terminology when talking to them instead of using the proper term.

There has to be some local guys around you that are on the forum, but like I mentioned to you previously, I've had work done at RPG and at Westside Offroad Group and Outlaw offroad, you could phone which ever one of these shops and ask who they use. I remember going to an alignment shop in Santa Ana a few years back to have my alignment done, but I can't remember the name off hand, the other shops took care of it with their own alignment shops, so I'm not sure who they used, I just paid the bill, lol. You're probably closer to Outlaw Offroad (Santa Ana), give Connor a call there and ask him who he uses, probably the same shop I went to before, I know it was under 100 bucks to do the alignment. Jeff at SVC should be able to give you another reference as well, just sayin...

What he said. When an alignment is performed, the steering wheel is set straight before the toe is set. If the wheel is not straight after, the procedure was performed incorrectly. Most modern Hunter alignment machines have a specific program for setting the toe. If the customer is not satisfied with the straightness of the steering wheel after the procedure, most reputable shops will fix it.
