This is not an issue in California, since everyone else follows the retarded Government of California I don't imagine there is any truth. Think about it Macco quick paint 399.00 changes the color of the vehicle and never once have I reported it to the DMV. I listen to several police channels and I can tell you they never say Blue Honda Civic license plate XXXXXXX it is just plates come back registered to Honda Civic out of City name... Color changes are easy so I would guess if it were illegal I have been in violation over 100 times.. But look for it to come to a DMV soon... All cars must be white....

:birgits_tiredcoffeeWhen you "sign" your registration, you are swearing that all statements are true.:deal:
Although it may not be against a particular law,
your drivers license is a 'privilege' as opposed to a 'right' and can be taken away.

The DOT and/or the MVC would be the place to get an almost correct answer.
Well, almost correct, because I've personally seen experienced employees correct
misinformation :slap: that other employees were disseminating.

Actually, this is a 'State Rights' issue.

Hey . . check the internet . . it has to be true . .

I don't see how this is a rights/privilege question as opposed to a legal/not legal one.

When you "sign" your drivers license you are swearing that all statements are true. Therefore it is against particular laws which will vary by state. Please see the following drivers license applications for verification

CA DMV form DL44
NV DMV form DMV 002
OR DMV form 735-173
NY DMV form MV-44

So yes if you do not change your drivers license to reflect your current hair color, weight, height, eye color, etc you are in fact breaking the law. While these things are listed on your license, in the case of CA registration the color of your car is not.

Hey...check the internet...it is true

So I say go for it! Dye your hair to match. Then ride around with your windows down, music up and flipping the man the bird daring him to pull you over because you have a big ass sticker on your truck and you didn't bother spending three hours of your time waiting in line to inform the DMV.

NJ is the same, if you do a wrap, or paint and the primary color is still the dominant color, logo's , strips , etc your ok, but if you paint or wrap in a total different color than stated on your registration, then you suppose to register the vehicle to that color, that will also fall under the LEO , that is stopping you, he may over look it, or he may ticket/fine you for the vehicle not matching your registration/ documents, also have to worry about state inspection.
