Has anyone seen/purchased these? They are for halogen headlight trucks, but says they come with built-in HIDs. I'm wondering if they are basically the Spyder headlights with added HIDs. If this is the case, I'm assuming light output would be crap? I really want to get a set of this style headlights, but I want to be able to run HIDs or something with good light output.

I recently purchased my Raptor and I believe it came with the Spyder headlights and HIDs. Light output isn't the greatest, but decent. Not a huge fan of the look so I will be putting the OEM headlights back on this weekend after I retrofit in some LED switchbacks and upgraded projectors.

Let me know if you'd like some pics.

If you truly are interested in the HID light output and look, do yourself the justice and keep scanning the forums for those that are looking to sell their OEM HIDS. The light output from halogens to HIDS is a world of difference and was the easiest upgrade for me.

It took some patience, but I was able to eventually snag a pair of pristine 2013 FX4 HIDS for $700 with the Morimoto plug/play harness of another F150 forum.

Or you can go the custom route/new set from RaptorRetrofit.

The OEM HID's aren't super great anyway, Im sure they are much better than the spyders but there is still room for improvement.

I'm interested in retrofiting the EvoX projectors into the OEM HID headlamps. Other than baking open the headlights, they bolt right in, and the output is supposedly amazing.

We just started using the EvoX 2.0 projectors, they are a HUGE improvement over the stock projectors. Just a heads up if you are attempting this yourself - they do bolt in but do not align properly 100% of the time. the mounting holes need to be drilled out slightly and they need to be hand aligned for a dead level cutoff.

Working on that now actually. It's a massive pain in the ass... Wondering how much interest there would be in making a DIY post about it...hmmm

Nice! I remember doing the retrofit in my 2006 FX4, that cost me about 8-10 hours of my life but the results were so worth it. I was going from halogen reflectors to the D2S 4.0 projectors and the improvement was amazing! Since these bolt in and no need to paint the housings I am betting the retrofit is probably closer to a 4-5 hour job. Removing the old sealant around the housing was a miserable experience.

I'd love to see more pics of your adventure.

Not great comparison shots, but I forgot to take pictures before starting my work. I was a little eager to finish my project... I hated the Spyder headlights so much, I ended up swapping them before I even got my plates! Don't mind the dealer frame.

Same bulbs on both sides.
