still didnt really find a straight answer about why hes using 87

To put it simple I didn't want to change to 93 octane. I'm not running any boost and the Hot Rod cams are a direct replacement for stock cams. The stock valve train and VCT are still being used. After spending $75 in gas every 2 to 3 days in my Lightning I'm just not ready to do that in this truck. I am curious to see what kind of results I will get with 93 octane or E85 but that may come after the new intake goes on the truck.

thats interesting because most cars (at least that i know of) respond very positively to 93
but thats cars and this is trucks...

The only difference between the 5.4 and the 4.6 is the deck height once you get passed that its a lot easier to mod these things.
