I’m under the impression if you install a Cobb CAI you must install a tune as well. If you don’t install a tune you will get a CEL. I seem to recall this is stated on Cobb’s website. Might be related to the separate dual tubes. For this reason I installed a Roush CAI as I don’t intend to install a tune.

Is my thinking flawed?

you do not need to install a tune. CAI is stand alone.

Gdog...not true.

It clearly states on Cobb’s website in red letters that their CAI requires the Cobb Accessport OTS or custom tune. I knew I saw that when I was considering a CAI

I agree with others that a CAI adds no performance gains when compared to stock. The Roush CAI falls into this category. I did notice my AWE 2FG exhaust note seems somewhat louder at cold start-up and under normal driving. I have not noticed any change in the sound of the turbos spooling.

I can state that my Roush CAI is easy on the eyes...LOL!!

I don't believe it's the case. Let's ask for some input from members who have Cobb CAI and don't have tunes. Anybody want to chime in on this?
