Has anyone ever added a resonator to an MBRP 3in catback exhaust?
I have some cabin drone issues and want to reduce the noise and slight rasp when engine is cold.
Tried reinstalling the factory resonator with exhaust adapters but the mbrp muffler inlet piping is closer together then stock and I don't want to bend to make it work.

I was looking at the Borla resonator with 2.75in piping bit assume I might end up with similar results.

I plan on undercoating to minimally help out with outside noise and protection, but that won't fix the issue.
All the other exhausts I've heard online have rasp issues so I don't necessarily want to change exhaust systems. MBRP is actually pretty decent overall when its warmed up.

Thanks in advance

It’s not really drone as much as it is excess exhaust note and at certain RPMs it sounds like crap. I tried multiple exhausts and they’re all similar in that way.

twister bottle style resonators will help but it’s going to soften the exhaust overall.

Thanks for the tip. It just seems like it resonates so loudly in the cab on normal acceleration and is constant at cruising speeds.

Yep...

It’s what these trucks do when you open up the exhaust. I’ve tried Gibson, Borla Sport, FOMoco Touring and a couple others. They’re all similar... just varying intensity of loudness at different RPM ranges but they all have excess exhaust noise in the cab. Even the FOMoco touring with passive valves.

It has its bright spots.... but you have to live with the trade offs

Thanks for the tip. It just seems like it resonates so loudly in the cab on normal acceleration and is constant at cruising speeds.

I love my corsa sport muffler, no drone or excess interior noise. I also have the catted spd down pipes and turbo adapters

Looks like I'll be going with the Corsa sport system. I'll have an MBRP full exhaust for sale then. Not enough posts yet to do a for sale thread lol. But located near Richmond, VA
