I think the u-nuts are the best solution. Don’t know why ADD didn’t just use them or they could’ve welded the nuts too.

Because U nuts are cheesy and have zero strength. For the price of an ADD bumper, and the known skid plate/oil change issue, the nuts should be captive (welded in place) by ADD, as a revision as soon as the internet chatter started.

I think it is - I got one but havent installed it yet. Being able to control the oil flow and put some tubing on the hose barb is ideal for me.

My truck has a metal oil pan so I went with the Fumoto oil drain valve.

Thought I’d revive this topic since I just had my first oil change with the ADD Stealth Fighter at the dealership and considering many others may have this same bumper.

I explained to the service advisor about the lack of access to the oil filter with the aftermarket bumper but he didn’t write it down on the work order for the tech. Sooooo... once I got the truck back, I asked the advisor about how the tech got to the oil filter so he called and asked. Tech said it was a pain in the butt but he went from the top down. Verified with my dash cam.

It does appear though that he attempted to try and remove the skid plate but stopped after trying a bolt or two as he couldn’t get them off considering you can’t the access most of the nuts.

Job was done but boy did they leave a mess underneath.

U nuts FTW - I installed these for my skid plate and it makes oil changes a breeze. They are strong as hell too, a bit rusted at this point but strong.

I realize this is a very old thread, but does the Fumoto come with the drain tube? If not, do you know what size tube you used?
