So you foam cannon the truck and then two bucket wash it? Foam cannon = pre rinse?

People use different methods, depending on preferences and also on how dirty the truck is.
Note that this is the
Foam Gun, which is used with a garden hose. A
Foam Cannon requires a pressure washer.
Both make great tools for a pre-soak, to help loosen stuck on dirt and crud, then following with a pre-rinse, to get most of the junk off before using the wash pad, wedge or mitt.
To answer you original question, the Foam Gun or Foam Cannon can be used instead of the suds bucket, since they both put suds onto the truck. You would then only need a rinse bucket to clean out your wash media between panels.
Some people will even use the Foam Gun to spray suds directly onto the wash media as they wash the truck, in addition to spraying onto the paint.
My typical maintenance wash, when the truck is not super dirty, is to pre-rinse with the pressure washer, then spray a section with the Foam Cannon, use the wash media and rinsing it as needed in the rinse bucket.
If the truck is really dirty, like covered in winter crud, then I will start with a pre-soak from the Foam Cannon.
