 . When I have the A/C set to MAX AC, it works fine but then if I turn the temp up above 65* the driver's side vents start blowing hot air and the passenger side remains cool.

If I set to DUAL, it seems I cannot adjust the driver's side temp at all it's just hot while I can adjust the passenger's side normally.

2010, lux package and NAV.

Thoughts?

Got to drive from the passenger side... LOL

One of the techs here should know how to put it into test mode. It will run the system through a series of tests and flash a code on what is wrong...

Sounds like a dead/sticking blend door actuator. Had to replace one of these on my '04 Sierra out of warranty and also had another replaced under warranty by dealer. In the case of the Sierra it was a simple fix and $150 part.

On the Sierra it also stored a BCM code (which will not throw a check engine light). Try doing the "hold 3+6 presets in park" to get into navigation diagnostics and then use the "View DTCs" option. I have no idea if that system is capable of looking at BCM codes.

maybe, i do hear a "new" knocking sound when i turn on the climate control coming from under the dash. sounds like the blend door is stuck.

Yep, that's what my GMC did...sounded like plastic gears skipping/stripping, and for good reason.

I think Droid's on to it. Probably a blend door actuator. My second guess would be the hvac head/controller itself. But with the clicking you're hearing; actuator.

Another question for you ford techs. If I walk in with 31000 miles and a laundry list of warranty claim issues ... will I look like a procrastinating *******?

No, it happens all the time. People do it specially right before the warranty period ends. Ironically, we call it the "laundry list of W's". W for warranty. Techs are pretty much used to it.
