87 perf vs 93 perf

Hi guys, I have the 5star tuner and have run the 87 performance and 87 economy tunes for a while now. I am just curious who has run the 87 performance then the 93 performance and what is the difference? Better fuel economy, is it faster, what does it change, etc... thanks.

i dont have a 87 perf tune right now but i can say that the 93 perf tune feels like it pulls much stronger than stock. my butt dyno says its faster...

In accordance with the ford manual, 91 oct will give you 10 horse power more than 87. I assume 93 will give you 15 horses over 87.

Butt dyno!! Lol I love that! I will be switching later today so we'll see how my "butt dyno" responds.

Ok I'll answer my own question, WOW I like it! 87 perf is great but 93 perf takes the 87 perf tune and puts it on redbull and 5 hour energy!

I keep my on 93 performance...best tune IMO...I wonder if there would be a BIG issue if you ran 87 while on the 93 tune? I know people have done it...I know I will probably do it if I start switching my tunes

I wouldn't think it would be a huge deal on an unmodified, naturally aspirated engine for a short period of time, but as you add mods or forced induction you definitely would not want to do this. And personally, I would not do it unless it was a necessity, i.e. you had the 93 octane tune loaded and you had to stop for gas and all they had was 87 octane. Detonation is not a friend of any motor.
