not to beat an old topic, even though most are 801 vs 802. I have the option to buy an 800a in white for 4K under msrp or a 801a with similar discount. The difference is about $3k. I know the only noticeable differences are the rear sliding window, heated leather seats and tailgate appliqué.

On the 800a I don’t mind buying take-off leather and installing it. But what are your thoughts on the rest? Particularly the tailgate appliqué, which looks weird without especially on a white. Also, if I decide to sell next year for the 2020, will 800a be okay in resale? I’d figure it wouldn’t be $3k less than a used 801a. Might be wrong

Any advice would help, I’m walking into the dealer after lunch to buy 1 of the 2.

801a my opinion and dont know why you would sell for 2020, nothing new is changing for the raptor except couple colors. If you want a 2020 model wait and order one in a few weeks or better yet shop around and get a 2019 with deeper discounts.

I ordered my white 802 without appliqué but dealer messed up the order. I think it looks better. But if you are going to spend 1000 on take-off leather seats +install then just spend the 3k and get the 801 if you prefer appliqué.

Yeah that’s where I’m at, the leather is $500 take off. But I’d figure I’d install myself, I did my wranglers katzkins. The tailgate appliqué looks good on the white for contrast, but I think I’m stuck if I get the 800a because there’s no solution other than changing tailgate. Then for sure I should’ve bought an 801.

Your tailgate also won't have all the bits like camera, soft open etc. so you would have trouble finding someone to swap it I would imagine.

I thought not but now you mention it I'm not 100% sure. Something to check now 2019 800 has a full sized screen.

That’s what I noticed, 2019’s have the 8” now. I don’t see leather and rear appliqué justifying $3k but maybe installing leather will make it more like $2000 difference.

I guess what I need to know is will 800a hold it’s value relative to 801a or that $2-3k difference new will be a larger difference used.

Dude, we are all hosed on resale. Buy a Gen 1 if you are concerned about resale.

My guess is it won't make much of a difference. Buy what you like best and drive it like you stole it!

I second this.
Buy what you want and enjoy. If you want to sell for a 2020 then wait and get a 2020
