the 7.0 V8 is going in the Super Duty not the F150. And it's a downsize from the V10. All manufacturers from Ford to Ferrari are downsizing their motors and going to forced induction. There's no way Ford would go back to a 7L V8 NA in the Raptor. Like some else said, if anything they'll just bump up the power on the Raptor by increasing turbo size or psi.

The 7.0L motor that has been "rumored" to be going into the Raptor at some point is already slated for production, but my understanding is it's not the Superduty motor and is an entirely different engine. 20,000 units are to be produced by Ford Performance which is too many to be a crate motor or aftermarket engine. It was originally speculated that this was going to be the GT500 Mustang motor, but we now know this isn't the case. The timeline has these motors ready by 02/19, which would make them a mid-year option for wherever they go. The engine has been given the moniker "427 Boss" and has an aluminum block. It is based on the 6.2 (the 6.2 was originally called a "Boss" engine), and has a dry sump and an all new supercharger supplied by Rousch. It's estimated to be 675hp +/-.
There is information out there about the motor that can be found but like I stated, it was originally assumed that it was for the GT500 because of the obvious, and the dry sump. Nobody I'm aware of has "officially" stated that this is going in the Raptor, but there is no other plausible explanation because Ford Performance isn't building 20,000 engines to go to the aftermarket... there is no other platform that would require those production numbers from this kind of motor.

If true, the bump in list price for a 675hp supercharged 7.0 Raptor will make the Demon and Trackhawk look cheap. There is no way Ford will sell 20k trucks/yr that push six figures before ADMs.

Actually the V10 is 6.8 litres, and it isn't particularly efficient. I can see them dropping the V10 for the 7 litre in the F650 and 750 and the school bus chassis, because nobody wants their big trucks to sound like they have six cylinders, which the V10 sounds like.

I could care less what the new Raptor is getting as I just got my 18 from Team Ford and it lets the rear tires loose straight out of the dealer lot. Driving from Vegas back to CA proved it had enough power to drive down the 15 efficiently. The only option that I could think of is a cooler for my drinks. I’ve never owned a truck before this and it is an all in one vehicle for me. The only thing to dislike is the fuel economy. I got 12mpg driving back on the freeway, but I punched it a bunch to get out of congestion. My wife didn’t want me to get the truck, but once she went for a ride and saw how nice it was, then she approved. I’ll enjoy it and keep it for the 8 years which is the extended warranty plan I got from Flood Ford.

You think your Raptor is fast? What did you trade up from? Let me guess, was it an Accord? Or an STI? (note, I am referring to the Subaru, not the other STI, I don't want to be reported by sensitive Jennies!)

The Raptor is fast, it is faster than the Lightning, it is as quick as the 2007 Mustang GT and is 1000 pounds heavier at least. Also much bigger tires and offload suspension. It is a very quick truck. Anything quicker is either modded like crazy or is not a truck. My 911S is much faster, but it is much smaller and much lighter.

So there are two new engines? 7.3 gas and 7.0 gas? Think one is a V8 and one is a V10?
