Picked up a new to me Gen 1 with 80k miles truck was a grocery getter and never really off road - I plan on dropping the trans pan and doing the filter . Is it over kill to do the lead frame while I’m in there? Also has anyone just flipped their OEM thermal bypass to run the cooler full time?

do you have trans issues? you can probably find history on the lead frame.

and yes, my cooler valve is bypassed so it flows all the way through, all the time, and has been since 2018.

what year is your Prius? The lead frame were only a problem in certain years. I believe. 11-12

No issues just figured while I’m in there and it’s a known issue just take care of it . Did you flip your bypass or by an aftermarket one?

2014 - just seen a few 13-14’s have that issue on the gen 1 pages so figured while I’m in there just do it

No issues just figured while I’m in there and it’s a known issue just take care of it . Did you flip your bypass or by an aftermarket one?

mine was removed to run through the cooler all the time. as far as the lead frame, check the vin with the dealership to see if its been done already
