I got the touring version hoping for no drone and being able to still use the phone with sync etc. the frpp system looks to be borla with a different logo so I hope sounds as good and lasts the same. 400 is steep for the logo but the way I look at it 50k is a lot for a truck too and I just want it...I guess I have problems....money just isn't one of them right now.

I had the Borla on my last F150 NOT the touring model. The regular exhaust, I never had an issue with. Talking on bluetooth ......really never heard the exhaust in the cab. The CAI on the other hand was loud. I changed it to an AFE w/cover.

The Touring is really quite. Maybe too quite.
Its still an awesome system
You should be happy with it.

Good Luck

I hope it's a little louder than stock. I like the looks but if the sound is the same I will opt for another set up. My GT500 is louder than I want this truck but that is with no cats (and a cut our if I want to be really loud). I just want this to sound good. I like a number of the clips I have heard but am going this way because of ford racing. I will get a clip when it comes in and I get it installed.

I put this info in another thread but to keep anyone that may be looking at exhaust informed:

my poor ability to deal with stupidity is being tested today. I decided to put on the Ford Racing exhaust after finally deciding I wanted the quieter touring version for this truck since it is a daily driver....ordering and waiting for nearly a month - I ordered before I had the truck. I went and got the big box today and was able to easily unbolt and remove the old system - sorry no pics as i was rushing.

I got all the new stuff out and started to put it on and became a bit irritated when i had to remove the spare tire to put on the new exhaust tips (or last section as it was) but what ever. The hanger is a lot longer that goes in the rubber thing so it wouldn't fit with the tire there. The rest went in easy enough ecept for one thing....it's a foot too short!! I looked at the box, checked the part numbers, etc. All correct. Here is the part number info: http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...KeyField=22406

Turns out the 145 came with the 133" wheelbase mid pipe. Not sure if it's just mine or if it is all that way but sure enough wrong mid pipe was the conclusion so waiting begins again. I don't think it was anyone's fault (other than some one who packed it or what ever) but the situation is irritating. The silver lining is the local dealer agreed to do the install for me for free since I took it all apart and put it back together to take it back and was going to cancel the order all together....with a lift and the right tools this is a 20 minute job but by the time I see the right parts it may be snowing. Oh well I guess but it would have been nice to hear if I like the touring at least....probably could have moved it out of the hangers just to hear it but never thought of it.

I have since been sent a mid pipe and band but I don't like the band aid fix on a 1500 cat back system that is clearly made for the scab and then adapted to fit the screw rather than made for it. I am not accepting this and am getting my money back and deciding what I want to try next. I am disappointed in ford racing for allowing an expensive system for these trucks to be this way. Maybe it's just me but I feel like it is a poor fix rather than making a system for the screw. I am trying to get over it but am not there yet

WSI just helped me put on a Magnapack myself. Sounds like a freakin trophy truck now. It's tucked up nice and tight inside the frame rail and well in front of the rear axle. This offroad exhaust is not getting torn off. WSI had the right idea with this design.

You won't be disappointed. I ran mine (9th video on page one of this thread) for 30,000 miles and loved it.
Also, no sign of heat damage or carbon build-up on axle or lines the way I had it turned down.

I'm getting a similar setup for my new truck next week :gr_guns:

I just have to size it right, or get two this time because the 2012 is different from the 2010.

thanks! ordered it!!!

magnaflow magnapack part number 14419.

i can't claim credit though....socomech had it first

I think you guys helped me find my exhaust as well. I was just curious if all of you dumped it or did anyone by chance do the Lightning style side exit in front of the rear tire? Anyone weld in a Y-pipe and get 2 Magnapacks and turn it into a dual exit?

i had my magnapack dumped then i did lightning style. i came off the flange with striaght 3" pipe to the magnapack. out of the magnapack i put a y-pipe in and then ran 2-2.5" pipes out lightning style to the stock tips. dumped seemed to make it drone more

i love the lightning style. i now have SW long tubes and the SW lightning style cat back. a buddy of mine told me he thought grave digger was coming down the road when he heard me lol

How did the magnapack compare to the SW Lightning kit in the other thread? Besides the fact that everyones kit from SW keeps falling off, which was louder and meaner?

Hard to say because I did my SW cat back with long tubes. For the record i have had no issues with either setup. I like my SW setup better but we are talking cat back vs full exhaust...
