Just got a 5 star X4 tuner and now having a few issues, not exactly satisfied at this point.

I have an issue with my cruise control. Cruise control will not work when my lights are on, once I set cruise and turn the headlights on, cruise shuts off, re-downloaded stock parameters and still have issues.
Also have had a couple of rough shifts in 87 daily street, I believe from 2nd to 3rd I think, and it doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes I feel a rough shift when pulling off the gas and shifting at the same time it seems??.

Also..... while driving, out of nowhere my traction control idiot light comes on and stays on until I shut the truck off, pressing the traction control button does nothing, i also get the dinging and downloading sequence while driving out of nowhere... all this while tuner is unplugged and when in Stock parameters or in daily street and economy, haven't tried the other tunes.

I sincerely hope these issues can be fixed by 5 star, i also hope i won't have to go to the dealer to have these issues fixed on my dime, the sct is 3 days old.

This doesn't sound quite like an issue with the tuner and if it is I haven't heard of it before.

I can't give you an answer on the cruise control, dinging, or traction control light. Those sound like other issues. If it's tuner related then it possibly didn't download properly. Returning it to stock should clear the issue though.

The shifting you're referring to is usually going to happen no matter what tune you run under those conditions. Also, you'll want to put about 100 miles on the truck after loading a tune with NORMAL driving behavior before stomping on it.

I have not stomped on it, i can assure you. The rough shifts happen under normal driving conditions, it happened this after noon while making my way around a rotary.

In the 2 months I ve had the truck I have never had any electronic issues, it started right after I downloaded the tunes.
And I'm not sure how it can't be related to the tuner, the tuner obviously changes electronic settings and the cruise is electronic. It randomly, while driving starts the downloading sequence of the sct without it plugged in, and it's odd that it does the exact same dinging idiot light sequence of the tuner.

See, this is what I was afraid of, " oh, it's not the tuner".
I swear on my grandmother's grave this is literally happened 2 days after I used the tuner.

Is it really not believable that the Sct tuner could have caused thiz??

Here's a question that might should silly but did you by any chance recently change any of your bulbs to LED bulbs? That seems to be the root of the problem with cruise control issues and other electrical bugs. Just a thought.

I definitely believe it's a possibility. It's just odd.

What's even worse is that it does it when you return it to stock. I would try returning it to stock again and then disconnect your battery. Leave it disconnected for a couple minutes and then go for a test drive.

Who did you purchase the tuner from?

Have not replaced bulbs.

Purchased from 5-Star with 5 pre-programmed tunes.

Funny, tested cruise tonite with lights on, and it worked. I drove a total of nearly 800 miles on saturday, probably 400 of which were in the dark with lights on and cruise did not work, not until the last couple hundred did i notice the lights had to be off for cruise to work. I hope this wont be intermittent?
