Pat,

You can mount 3G's to the stock base if you pull apart the whole seat and modify the mounts. We did on the Trax Truck and they work great. Obviously you loose the back from tilting but as far as front to back, up and down you are all good.

So how hard was it to pull the seats apart? and what adaptor do you use?

6-8 weeks out. I'm going to ask the company if I can spill the beans.

Hey Trey, Anything?

You mean that wouldn't pass DOT???

This was the only pic I had of the base on the truck. The whole assembly is welded to the base, not just two 1" stitch welds like in the pic for the final outcome.

No, it makes me more scared of modifying them than I should be

What up Mike, hope all is well with you and the family in the Lone Star state. If your mechanical skills are anything like your knife sharpening ability you will be just fine. Wasn't hard at all.

The seat they went with is a crazy Recaro seat due to their sponsorship with them. It basically was a retail version of the Euro spec Audi RS4 seat from 07-09. Honestly might be one of the baddest seats I've ever sat in.

Ahh just do it, you will be fine. Hell, you test them for a living, I'm sure you better than anyone will know what would work best.

If / when I design something, I would drive all the attachment points to the floor / body. Removing the mounting feet from the track and building a localized frame that bolts in the stock floor attachments and possible adding extra anchor points that go through the floor with appropriate backing plates. I don't want any extra load going to the seat structure over the OE design, meaning no more belt attachments to the seat except the one buckle that is on there.

I've been wondering if there is a conversion to go from 2 inch wide to 3 inch wide belts using the standard 3-point attachment points. It seems to me that it would be a lot less problematic than some of these other options. Does anybody know of a kit like that?
