I wrote a blog on our 4 Wheel Drive & Sport utility Magazine website about how great the Raptor is selling and, because of this, there are rumors Ford might be looking at the Bronco concept again.

http://blogs.4wdandsportutility.com/6699597/editorials/will-ford-bring-back-the-bronco/index.html

If you would, please go there and comment (unless you don't like the idea, in which case, don't).

Ford peruses our magazine websites as well as the forums. Maybe, with enough positive comment, Ford might pull the trigger on a SVT Bronco!

Thanks!

I've brought this subject up more times than I can count. A Ford product that gives Jeeps a run for their money offroad would be AWESOME! And if it's an SVT Bronco that'd be even better. As long as it's a similar width and close to the length (for "Jeep trails") with excellent approach, breakover and departure angles, with an EcoBoost V-6 or V-8 and/or V-8 power, locking diffs, solid front and rear axles, and remote controlled sway bar disconnects, it'll be a home run.

If it's not an offroad capable machine (more capable than previous Broncos) then I think it'd be a mistake but I'm certainly not their typical buyer since I'm into offroading.

The pic below is a 2-door version. I'm personally not interested in that at all. I want a 4-door (J/K like) version only - for more cargo capacity and the slightly longer wheelbase will be best IMO.

Phil, you wouldn't be "starting a rumor" now would you ;) After all, it makes sense to us offroaders but is Ford really thinking about building the Bronco? Wouldn't be the first time a magazine has floated a trial balloon to get some momentum behind a new product idea

No, I've heard this rumor from some people "in the know", as well as read it online (although I just did a search and can't find where). Honestly, I wasn't thinking about it until I heard the rumor. Then, it made perfect sense and I decided to see what I could do to push things along.

Oh - and Dan, thanks for posting your comment on the magazine site.

That would be sweet!

I personally don't see buying one since I'm in love with my Raptor but I don't think Ford will have issues selling them either....especially if their designed close enough to the early 60's Bronco and produced by SVT.

I found this but it looks "old": http://blogs.fourwheeler.com/6249747/whats-new/new-midsize-trucks-coming-from-ford/index.html

And there's this from February of this year (Ford guy says "No" to the Bronco...

Bronco Reborn?

Question 4WOR: With the square design of the Ford Flex and the great response Ford is receiving for that crossover, does Ford have any considerations of building a new version of the original square-styled Bronco? Or is that nameplate dead?

Answer Ford: While many enthusiasts have painstakingly restored original '66-'77 Broncos, we have no plans at this time to resurrect this nameplate.

4WOR: Why don't you send us A Ford Flex and a Super Duty, and we'll resurrect this nameplate?!

I will be kicking myself in the ass if they come out with the new bronco...that thing would be AWESOME out here in CO...the raptor does WELL...but, i think this thing with the options listed by dan...would be sick as all ****!

JMHO

forgot to add...included is a Warn winch with synthetic rope, had options to be controlled inside and out of the truck with a wireless remote lol (wish) and give it to the SVT team to develop!
