You got that correct!! Gen 1 is still a better bang for the buck, if you still have one or can get one cheap enough.

We all know there is more available power in the 3.5TT, but Ford has to make sure what they field will live in Gnome, Death Valley and everywhere in between, hauling bed full of oak logs, max AC the whole time in DV. It has to have some expectation of known fuel economy and not belch carcinogens out the exhaust.

Remember the 10R80 is an overall limiting factor as well unless they’ve beefed it up for the newer model I think it’s somewhere around 590 tq max so there’s that.

This will help significantly with the ADM problem because demand will tank once they officially release the figures. For those who still want the truck despite Ford’s failure to perform and deliver, at least you’ll get a break at the dealership.

I'm not too sure about that logic, I mean the increase was only 39hp from gen 1 to gen 2 and look at the adm increases, what I'm trying to say is, there is increased interest in the Raptor and the dealers know it, the adm will be through the roof. There is going to be a buying frenzy when the dealers lots are full. Well, that's my logic, whether it's right or wrong, ha ha :birgits_tiredcoffee

Any Raptor is a great offroad machine. I just hope FORD doesn't lose any interest to the Dodge Boys.

look at the pricing. freakin gen 2’s are claiming 70k+ and in a lot of cases more than what buyers paid. TRX deals can be had. That’s telling by itself. I’m not saying TRX isn’t a good truck and isn’t capable enough off road, I’m sure it is for most users. But if it was all that, there would be the same pressure on TRX sales as there were on 2017’s, which were not limited edition trucks, same for 2018 when ADM was still the rule, rather than the exception. It really didn’t become a negotiable asset until about early to mid 2019.

This was pretty confirmed in the other thread. My interest in gen 3 for now is just about 0. I have the recaro interior and just put in a high fidelity audio system. Only reason for me to upgrade would be the rear suspension and a big screen.

that plus all of the covid delays. I will wait a year or two into this model year and see what the R holds

My Gen 2 with the suspension mods I’ve done and engine work is as fast as a TRX now and I’m completely happy with what it is for what I do with it. I do agree with a Gen 1 that’s used off or on road it’s a great platform but to bring it up to a Gen 2 level it will require some mods/$ just like my Gen 2 requires mods/$ to make it what the Gen 3 will more than likely be. However I don’t think I can get my Gen 2 up to the Gen 3 sync system and electronics but let’s face it I have options buy a Gen3 or sink stupid money in mine to try to catch up. The suspension from Ford on the Gen 3 will be better and it will still be much lighter than a TRX, so it’s truly up to what makes you happy and where you want to spend your money. I don’t Baja the truck although I am starting to look at some of the Baja runs provided here in Texas that take groups down the Baja peninsula so maybe in the future. But for now a badass FAST 1/2 ton that rides awesome and looks good on road, for me to then drive to the ranch and get into the Polaris’s works for me.

Uhh.. if by a "deal" you mean, searching for weeks to MAYBE find a TRX at MSRP, then yes, deals can be had.

The vast, vast majority of dealers out there are selling TRXs for $10-$20k markup, some even more.

Then you have the folks flipping a TRX with 200-300 miles on it as "used" for 20k over original sticker. It's everywhere.

The price-gouging on TRXs is higher than almost every other vehicle currently available. And that's with a fairly constant supply coming from RAM.. if the chip shortage catches up with them the way it's hitting Ford, look out on the prices.

Source: I searched non-stop for one at MSRP across the country for almost six weeks.

What TRX deals? Thought I might have an interest. ADM is $30k around me. Crazy!

I have seen TRXs around MSRP. A local dealer just got a ‘19 Raptor here, 10k, 802A. They are asking $80k and I bet it will be gone within a few days.
