Trying to decide between the SDHQ or Rigid 40" LED light bar to mount behind my grill. Here's what I've gathered so far from their ads:
SDHQ: Vision X 10 Watt 40" LED bar... Just like our bumper mount it is a no drill install... This 40" 10 Watt LED bar puts out 19,800 lumens, it has an Electronic Efficiency or 94.5%, Optic Efficiency of 94%, it draws 18.33Amps @ 12V.. and comes with a lifetime warranty!
Price....$1600
(Note) Spoke with a rep at SDHQ and it sounds like it has to be ordered all one way (spot vs flood) and the one they put on their Raptor is a Euro beam. Waiting on a definitive answer as to what that means.

Rigid: The new "E" Series High Intensity L.E.D. Light by Rigid Industries. General Specs: 93% Optical Efficiency Shockproof No Vibration Fully Dimmable 80 LED's with 50,000+ Hour Life Span Easy Two Wire Installation 12.67 Amps 152.04 watts 14,525 Lumens Patented Hybrid Technology runs lights at 90% efficiency which is unmatched in the industry. 8" of flood reflectors on the outsides of the light and 32" of spot reflectors on the inside half of the light. This will optimize both functional light spread and light distance for increased visability. Dimensions: 3.375" High 3.625" Deep 41 3/8" Long Why LED? A light-emitting-diode (LED) is a semiconductor diode that emits light when an electrical current is applied in the forward direction of the device, as in the simple LED circut. The effect is a form of electroluminescence where incoherent and narow-spectrum light is emitted from the P-N junction in a solid state material. Advantages of LED lighting: 50,000 hour life expectancy Very High Lumens per Watt No glass lens to break No Bulbs to Burn out No Ballast to Mount Rigid Industries Advantage,it's all in the reflector. Patented Super Efficient Reflector 93% efficient vs. 72% "Brand X" reflectors Available in both Pencil and Flood Beam More Light with Less Power, Heat and size. Much Father Projection Multi Source Light No "bouncing" beams Virtually eliminates HID vibration If one LED fails the other LEDs will not Greatly Reduces eye fatigue
Price....$1300

I know a couple of you guys have gone with the Rigid bar....impressions? Has anyone bought the SDHQ bar?

You've got the right info - the two key LED light bar manufacturers are Rigid Industries and Vision X Lighting.

SDHQ is a vendor who sells Vision X products (and many others). Rigid Industries and SDHQ are both supporting vendors (as I understand it).

I'm sure you'll do some Google-ing to find test results from comparisons. Here's one: http://www.utvchat.com/lightbarshootout.html

I have the 20" Rigid Industries lightbar and two pairs of their Duallys and I'm very happy with them.

Let us know what you decide on.

The specifications don't make any sense. (highlighted in red)

How is a 10 watt light bar from vendor A putting out more light (and drawing more amperage) than vendor B with 152 watt light bar?

OK, spoke with Ryan at SDHQ. Very enlightening. One of the questions he answered was Euro beam...it's like a spot beam but without the blind spot in the middle. Also edumicated me on how LED's aren't really a high speed driving light as they don't reach out there like HID's (even though lumens may be way higher on LED's). So I might be rethinking the light bar and go with HID's instead. His price shipped with everything needed to mount....$1550.

Next I'll talk to Rigid. Sorry if this is old hat for some of you. I'm just thinking out loud here....

I haven't seen a light bar brighter/with more reach than the four 50 watt KC HID lamps on my truck. Not trying to start a pissing war, but I concur with SDHQ Ryan.
