So the dealership tells me that the 3rd brake light is designed to take on some water. WTF really??? Shouldnt the idea be to keep the lights dry? Is there a reason for this design that I am missing? Anyway I have had mine replaced twice already. Apparently Ford would rather replace it than redesign it.

Yes it is designed to take on moisture. I cannot remember why it is designed to do that but it is your owner's manual

//EDIT// Just checked my owner's manual and it's not there. I think it's in the TSB.

Interesting, didnt hear that about their 3rd, never had a problem with any aftermarket 3rds, well the 1st one I got on my silverado had water in it and I called the makers and they just mailed me a new 1, got to keep the old 1 and everything so I dont really call it a problem lol
