Well after TRR cleaning, I noticed the floor of the Raptor was quite wet on the passenger side. It was soaked from the front to the rear. I had the windshield replaced right before TRR, so naturally I thought that I had a new leak at the windshield. So RW held the hose over the windshield and I searched and searched for water intrusion on the inside under the dash. Nothing.
She mentioned that people have problems with the third break light leaking. I to remembered that, but thought it was limited to the '10 & '11 trucks. The rear of the truck carpet was very dry, so I didn't think the leak originated there. But at this point I started pulling the rear panel off the back wall. Bone dry. But wait, whats that.... looks like watery run marks where made in the TRR dust. I found the culprit. The water was coming from the rear.
I called the dealer. They ordered me a replacement. They said Ford came out with a new assembly they replaced the foam. What happens is the foam brakes down and allows water to enter.
So heads up to the 12 owners, watch out for the leaky rear third brake light.
