Hi guys,

I went to a local shop that specializes in vinyl wraps for vehicles and inquired about the cost of doing a partial hood wrap in matte black vinyl (just the raised portion including the front edge of the hood) like many have done. Here's the kicker...I was just quoted a price of $525 to do the job!!! Is this WAY out of line or is it me? I saw another post on here where someone in TX got it done for $175. They are using 3M 1080 vinyl.

Thanks for your time.

Just the raised part of the hood like the OEM decal except extending the film down to cover the front/leading surface.

Way overpriced - I had that done for less than half of what you were quoted, and I've known others who found it for less than $200.

I had mine done for $175, but I think the shop under quoted me. Many guys around here are getting it done for around $200.

Here's a pic, it really gives the truck an aggressive look...

This is what I thought. The company specializes in national advertising campains (Geico Fleet Cars, etc.) for huge companies and doesn't really get a lot of "foot traffic" from private consumers...although the graphics designer did say that they have done a bunch of private vehicle wraps and partial wraps.

Anybody have an idea as to how much the material alone would cost?

I want one as well. Just the center piece that comes to the grill.

So if a shop does the 3m clear bra, I am getting my wife a clear bra as well, they should be able to do the black as well?

Also would I want to protect the black on the front with clear, so it does not get nicked and scratched?
