So the "Ubehebe Challenge" is basically a test of endurance... to make it to the bottom of the Ubehebe Crater (
Ubehebe Crater - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) and back up in 15 minutes. Doesn't sound or "look" to bad from the top... however it's very deceiving!
Because of the volcanic rock that's been pulverized, it's like climbing in loose gravel. Step forward, half-step back! Very challengine, and the 15-minute mark is tough to come under.
Our Canadian buddies Doug and Kyle joined us yet again, all the way from Nelson, B.C.! Doug's 3rd run with us, and we always enjoy their company. Doug ended up being the only one of the group that came in under the 15-minute mark... and so he accepted the cash pot we threw together of $100!!
