2nd battery

Anyone out there install a second battery on their truck or found a need for one?

I'm thinking to do it too. Had to jumpstart it twice last week. If i don't drive it for two days, i need to do this. I have a dashcam and a tracking device wich are drawing the battery. I have a device that should shut off the camera when battery voltage drops too much but it cuts the power too late.

you have a bad battery if its doing this.

I replaced the battery in january because of this. No difference. I would like to have a second battery to hook up the dash cam. So i can still start.

you need a battery isolator if you are going to link batteries. that way one can be completely drained while keeping your starting battery full.

I've been looking for it. But where is a good place to place the second battery? Not much space left in the bed. And what type off battery should i use?

an aux battery should always be a deep cycle. this allows for charging and discharging multiple times without battery damage. you can put one under the rear seat

Deep cycle for the second is definitely the way to go, Dan, where is your second one mounted?
