I did use the search function but did not find anything on this. My apologies if I missed something. Searched for Ford parts exploded diagrams and found nothing that identified a gasket.

Question: Is there supposed to be a gasket between the top cover and the base of the stock air intake filter box?

Back story: I installed the FP Air/Oil separator from the 22 GT500 on my R. After 3 engine cycles (three trips to wherever) I got a CEL with code P2C90. I returned things to stock and no CEL or codes. Discussed with a good friend and he thought there may be a leak and that we should smoke test it. I reinstalled the FP air/oil separator (got the CEL and hated P2C90 code). Sealed the air horn with plastic and began the smoke test. No leaks found from the FP air/oil separator or anywhere else on the engine. However smoke was pouring out from between the air box cover and the base. Removed the cover and no gasket.

I'm thinking of trying the UPR catch can next.

Thank you for the help.

There should be a gasket or seal between the top cover and base of the stock air intake filter box. The absence of a gasket likely caused the leak, triggering the P2C90 code. Consider adding a gasket or seal before trying the UPR catch can.

Thank you!

Is there a Ford part number for this gasket or is it considered part of the base or cover assembly?

There's a thread "Post Delivery Check Engine Light P2C90" thread. It's the PCV tube, which has a setting in the PCM software that needs to be updated.

It's a Ford software issue and your dealership will need to flash the system. There is an Official Ford Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) for this (attached)

I hope this helps, but do head over to that thread.

Thank you, much appreciated!
I read the post and the TSB. I spoke to my Dealer Service Advisor about this when I took the truck in to have the Hood Scoop replaced. They performed the TSB. I've just reinstalled the FP Air/Oil separator and so far no CEL. Hopefully this is the solution.
SA told me that no gasket between the top cover and the bottom of the stock airbox is correct.
