2023 and towing a boat

Hey guys. Question for anyone who has experience towing with a GEN 3!! Mainly looking for Gen 3 experience since the rear end had a redesign.

I've always wanted a raptor. For years. I'm finally in a position where I can swing it. But.... I'll also be towing a wake boat. It's about 6200 lbs on the trailer, dry. Figure another few hundred worth of gear and food in the bed. Another few hundred of my self, wife, and small kids in the cab. Weight distribution hitches are not really an option with the trailer.

Does anyone here have any experience pulling a boat like this with their gen 3s? I've seen gen 2s doing it and there's some sag. Gen 3s have the re design so Id assume it'll sag even more. I know the tow capacity is 8200, but I'm concerned about the sag.

It'll be about a 20 minute commute to the lake, dozens of times a year. MAYBE one trip a year going 8 hours one way. Any input would be great, pictures of your G3 towing 7k would be even better.

Probably a better question to post in the general Gen 3 forum…. Several folks do quite a bit of towing including boats and can prolly help you out…. They may not be checking out the prospective owners forum often (as they already have their trucks)

I agree: did 2500 miles from Montana to Florida this summer with a 7x16 at 6k lbs loaded. Have did the same trip with a TRX and a Gen 2. Gen 3 tows amazing.

I have a '21 Gen 3, and I tow a 24' boat w/ dry weight 5200 lbs. Add in 125+ gal of fuel, fishing gear, trailer, etc I figure I am right at the 8,200 lb limit. I'm towing 200 mile round trips 3-4 times per season. The sag is real, but hasn't impacted trailering stability. The Raptor runs right up to 70 mph w/ no sway or bounce with plenty of HP. I also had an '18 Gen 2 and towed the same rig. I think they tow about the same. The '21 might have a bit less sag. Bigger mirrors on the Gen 2 were a bit nicer for towing. I emailed Timbren today to see if they have stops for the Gen 3. The stock blocks have a good gap to the axle despite the sag. I'm not sure if the Timbrens would routinely be in contact with the axle to improve the sag. Not the best pictures, but the sag is evident on truck is on a bit of an uphill grade at the boat ramp. Also a pic of the stock bump stop. I'm as interested to improve the sag to prevent any scrutiny from law enforcement as I am to improve towing. The front end is not impacted by the sag. I once hauled a masonry fire pit in the bed of the Gen 2 and the front end was very loose.

I upgraded the rear springs with Geiser and placed the airlift 1000HD air bags inside the coils.

I bought the Timbren blocks and will install in March. Will post again in April when I break the boat out of storage.
