So guys, is everyone aware they are redesigning the Tundra for 2022? You are all absolutely correct that the Tundra lacks in tech, power, and other modern features. So this is Toyota's chance to change that. I have no idea what they have planned. But it doesn't make sense to criticize the new unreleased 2022 Tundra based on the previous generation.
Good point, Toyota has proven to us they are pushing the envelope with vehicles in other segments, go ahead and name one with the exception of the LFA, that is actually innovative.

I love my '19 Raptor, but I do have a bit of a soft spot for "real" Toyota vehicles. I love my LX570 that my wife drives. Had since new in 2013 and it has 100k miles and zero issues. Literally drives the same as when I bought it. No squeaks, rattles, anything.

Not saying Tundra is built the same as the Land Cruiser/LX, but I like how "blue blooded" the Tundra has been with it's beefy 5.7L v8 and decent reliability/build quality. Anyway, this 2022 looks pretty damn sweet. First teaser picture:

I have the same combo in my family. But I cant stand driving the antiquated Lx570.

I have owned Toyotas and Lexus my whole life (driving over 40 years) but I cant imaging going back to them until they get current with technology and update their 20 year old engine design. Also, the inside of that "new" Tundra looks like my 2007 Sequoia. LOL

The GUI of Lexus absolutely SUCKS. Did I say SUCKS? Doesn't matter what they do, go from that absolute suckiest mouse to the touchpad, they are absolutely horrible interfaces. Dealbreaker day in, day out.

Every review, including staid Consumer Report, says it sucks. Yeah that's right, they use the word sucks in their reviews.

Shame really, as otherwise nice vehicle if dull.

I realize that it's a new truck, but I don't think it's a great look for Toyota to introduce it by releasing a vague photo with an obvious styling cue that was taken directly from the Raptor.

There's no chance that Toyota is releasing a Raptor competitor, so the teaser for the new truck is just a straight up grab for the trend that Ford initiated.

I came to my Raptor from a V8 4Runner, and my wife's DD is a Lexus GX470. I'm all about Toyotas, but they haven't been exciting in power or technology for many years. Hoping the new Tundra can turn that around. If Toyota made a 450+hp Tundra with a Lexus grade interior and tech package, they couldn't take my money fast enough.

Spot on. I came from the old 4th gen V8 4Runner. They ruined it with the 5th gen. And there's been no update to interiors, tech, or power in a looonnnng time. Meanwhile, Ford and Ram over here...

I was told by a Toyota person in 2019 that they had a great Tundra to unveil but it had been delayed. Then covid... Now, who knows...

Ha, I'm not looking for an argument here. I'm hopeful the 2022 Tundra will be better than the previous gen. If it's not, it's not. It may fall flat. I have no idea.

I'm not tribal for Ford, Chevy, Toyota...anybody. I like cool trucks. Cool trucks that last a long time are even better.

Toyota was at its height in the late 80’s to early 90’s (from their pickup to the legendary Supra)
Now the most exciting (still dull) car they have is made by BMW.

If it's been almost 15 years since the Tundra was updated, I expect this brand new 2022 model to bring everything to the 21st century finally. :D

Whether it's fully competitive with Ford, GM, and Stellantis remains to be determined, but it should be a lot better than the current model.
