Trying to look for a Raptor right now. It is quite unfortunate, as a buyer, how much prices have gone up. From what I have seen, you can basically get a 2020 for close enough or at MSRP still. Used prices almost seem more inflated than new prices. Seems like anything that's a second gen is going for $60k-$70k, unless it has higher milage. At those prices, it almost doesn't make any sense to buy used. Raptor prices are almost like Glock prices, with used prices costing more than new or close enough that you might as well buy new.

And to think my wife said buying a vehicle is a bad investment! Well, her minivan was.

I looked and seems that the entire used market jumped. Look at used gen 1 raptors. There are 60k+ mile trucks at $50k+.

Good time to sell your gen 1 or gen 2 for the next 6 months to a year, maybe longer if its another 3 year wait for the gen 3.

Buying used almost only makes sense at the moment if the truck is modified. Otherwise, you're talking about $5k or a max of $10k difference in price between a used one and a comparable brand new one.

That said. If anyone has a modified one they are looking to get rid of, let me know! Haha.

When I was shopping back in July I couldn’t find a used 2019 or 2020 for under $50K for a Scab 800A without options, a new one was $55K MSRP. I found a few used 802A in the mid $60’s. I probably could’ve saved $5-8K buying used, but that hardly seemed worth it.

Been pricing new ones. Pretty consistent 7% off sticker but not much more. Have a trade so I got quotes from car max and Carvana for a cash deal before I talked to them so I had a basis. Dealer offered me $400 under clean trade and Carvana was right at it. Carmax was 2400 under carvana and 2000 under the dealer. No one has what I want so have to make some concessions if I want new. Interesting Carmax is listing a 1-2 year old Raptors similar equip for what local ford dealers are selling new 2020's for. Crazy world.

ETA got $6,100 off on a 2020 that stickered for $73,445 so 8.3%...also they gave me what the cash buy from Carvana on my trade was so saves $1,500 in taxes..happy days!

Prices on these Ford performance products for some reason have little to no leeway. They are holding MRSP and some even are inflated depending on region.

I just purchased a Raptor a few weeks ago and looked at both new and used. I initially was drawn to the 0% interest on any new 2019 models BUT that doesn’t apply to SVT models or ford performance models. So when we went to the tables to negotiate for a new Raptor they were only giving a $2000 discount down here in the South Florida area at this particular dealership.

I got a better deal on a used CPO’d 19 Raptor that worked out to be better with the numbers. The CPO gave me a very good warranty that extends the factory comprehensive 36k to 75k.

Just have to be persistent and patient on where you want to be with YOUR numbers. Worst cases scenario is that they say No.

So you were able to get your truck or around $67 then? Before taxes?

Found a great deal on my 2020 802a with Yaklin Ford in South Texas. $6017 under sticker and gave me a very fair deal on my trade. Couldn’t be happier with them. The most seamless and low friction auto purchase I’ve ever experienced.
