I keep it off. It’s super annoying on the mountain. The collision alert always goes off when slow people pull into the turn outs too. I’m scared the 2020 will auto break, hopefully I can turn it off. Mine goes off at least once a day n the 18

It has gone off and warned me only on two occasions in my ‘19 and brought up the big red window collision warning. Both of these occasions I was moving slowly and around 25+\-mph. I was well aware of my position however. While I don’t know the characteristics of how the system works, I think it’s using features of the progressive cruise control and if it senses you coasting, braking or foot on the throttle it will take measures to warn or hit the brakes.

So it must have some intelligence built into it.

My wife loves the feature. It keeps me in my lane. She hates when I use up ALL the road. LOL

Tighter high speed turns and lane lines sometimes play with the system. If your not really on point it let’s you know. Otherwise it works pretty good.

Otherwise just like the Nanny software, press the button at the time and disable it. Easy enough.

I've only had the truck for a couple of months and I've only used the active assist system for a few days now, but overall I like it. I didn't much care for the steering wheel vibration and turned that off but I can live with the active assist. There is a time to use it and time to turn it off but I do think it's a useful tool.
