I have a 2020 Raptor with 6300 miles. The check engine light came on the beginning of December with the message in the Ford pass app “the Engine Control System has detected an electrical concern with one of the exhaust emission sensors.” The light comes and goes, on for a couple days and off for a couple days.
I had trouble getting it into the local dealer. They booked an appointment 10 days out and then wanted me to leave it for a week before they could plug it in to see what was wrong. I said I would bring it back next week when they had time and they said I would still have to leave it for a week. Needless to say I won’t use this dealership.
I took the truck to another dealership that’s further away last Friday. The light was on since Monday and it went out when I got there and was off all day Friday. They said they couldn’t test the sensors if they weren’t tripped.
Of course Saturday morning the light came on and stayed on Saturday and Sunday over the course of 250 miles.
I took the truck in Monday morning and they said it was a catalytic sensor and had to order it for Tuesday. They said that it didn’t test bad but they had to try it.
Tuesday the sensor didn’t solve the problem and they said they had to consult with Ford. Wednesday Ford had them do some additional testing and told them to replace the catalytic converters.
Today, Thursday they replaced the converters and the problem is still there. They want me to leave the truck while they consult with Ford.
I have a free loaner car, the truck is inside but I am losing confidence in their ability to fix this.
@FordTechOne any advice?
Truck is stock.
Thank you in advance. Bob
