I’m currently in the market for a performance blue SCREW Raptor. I’ve narrowed down my section to a 2019 with the 802A which also has the forged aluminum wheels, carbon fiber package, tailgate step, and technology package. The initial price I received is $67,061 down from the MSRP of $71,885.

On the other hand the 2020 also has the 802A package, forged aluminum wheels, tailgate step, and the twin panel moon roof. The price I got for that was $66,256 down from $72,470.

Talking to both dealers I think there’s some room for negotiation and as of now I’m leaning towards the 2019. At this point it’s probably a matter of who gives me the best price but I wanted to know if I’m missing anything by going with the 19 over the 20. Is there a target price I should try to reach? Thanks for the help. Hopefully I can make a deal in the coming week.

Why would you buy a 19 when you can get a 20 at the same price (possibly even cheaper than a 19)? The 20 is currently worth more than a 19 and its value will continue to be worth more as time goes by. It makes no sense to buy a 19 when you can get a 20 for the same price.

Invoice pricing is typically $6-7k below MSRP. So yes, the 2020 price is a good deal. No way I would pay that price for a 19 given that I could get a 20 for the same price.

Fair enough. I’ve read and seen some videos about issues with the twin moon roofs. So really, that’s the one reason why I was leaning towards the 19 but having the moon roof isn’t a deal breaker. Thanks for the input.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a Raptor with a moonroof. But at the same time, I wouldn't buy a 19 over a 20 given how easy it is to get a 20 at invoice.

I just bought my 2020 802a SCREW with no moonroof on 3/31/20. I live in Florida and found one in south Florida for below invoice. Hardly no dealerships have been selling Raptors in the state of Florida. Thus, there are deals everywhere to be had. Moreover, I actually found quite a bit of dealers in the state of Florida who order fully loaded Raptors without moonroofs. I see that you are in Georgia, it may be worth your time to drive down here and pick one up. If you do, I just ask for a nice a steak dinner in return :)

All of the below listings have no moonroof and are discounted:

You are welcome :)

Just for perspective, Jarret Gordon Ford in Winter Haven hasn't sold a Raptor since December of 2019 despite having those trucks listed on their website for those prices (including Cars.com and so on). And yes, they will sell you those vehicles for the price listed on their website. I called and inquired, but ultimately passed due to me wanting Race Red.

On my 5th Raptor and 3rd with Twin Moonroof. Not one problem with the roof and I put a ton of miles on these trucks.

F-it. I say get the '19. I know it's more money and a year older, but I have a good feeling about it! o_O
