Thanks for the $25,000 number. That's very helpful. Did that include a new truck bed, bumper, tailgate etc? With an estimated value of $60k (probably lesser on the insurance company books), I'm curious as to whether or not it makes it to the 75% of value threshold that would lead to totaling it.

Is that why you are asking how much it would cost to replace the frame? Are you wanting it totaled and hoping to buy it back?

Definitely mention diminished value as well as the rental costs for the month or two it’s going to take to get this repaired.

My FIL was rear ended my a USAA insured in his AMG GT. Very minor damage to the rear bumper cover. I told him to ask for diminished value. He through out $5000 as a wild number and they offered $3500, which he agreed to.

One other concern is if the Allstate insured has only $25,000 or $50,000 property damage limits. That could become an issue and force you to end up filing with your insurance. Ask the adjuster to be sure the limits won’t become an issue. If $100k or more, you’ll be fine.E87DBD75-1419-470F-84DC-C289A0D47182.jpeg

Insurance should total it if the cost to repair exceeds 50% of the truck value. The airbags going off would have ensured it was totaled.

Following up with the final report on this thread. It took 4 months and 4 days, but my Raptor was successfully repaired (total cost ~ $35k), including new frame, new bed, bed liner, bumper, tailgate, shocks, spare tire, paint etc. The elevated prices for used cars (and a Raptor) meant that Allstate never got close to their 75% value that would total it. I'm thrilled to have my truck back!!! Working on the diminished value claim now.
