Allstate has a reputation for being a nickel and dime company when it comes to paying claims, even more than all the other companies. The adjuster may have written that estimate off of photos or maybe they came out and inspected it but that’s how most do it now. Write a cheap estimate, hope you take the cash and never repair it. Supplements are extremely common and not anything to worry about. They won’t guess at stuff unless they can see it when writing the initial estimate. That $3100 won’t cover the bed damage, let alone the frame, bumper and other stuff.

be prepared for the insurance company to pay 30-35k into your truck before they would ever consider totaling it. You figure they would want to do what is right but they do not care.

Good Luck with it.

If you submitted a claim/photos online then the estimate will be low. They just write the big stuff they can see to get you in the system and then rely on the shop to do the proper supplement. It's become a thing since covid started.

So now you need to get serious with a diminished value claim if they intend to move forward with repairing.

Yes, good luck with that. Easier to trade the truck off and then seek the damages. Unless the person who hit you has 3x state limits that one will be very hard to get. Each company treats it vastly different.

It worth a shot. In some cases it will push the value over to the 'we're gonna total it out' price.

No its not, insurance company doesn't care as a matter of fact they will subrogate that price from the body shop down to lower margins before they ever cut the check. Legal/ consumer companies out there will help you get a diminished claim back but you will more than likely have to retain an attorney.
