First post - been lurking for a while. Thanks for your expertise and education. I’m a lifetime car guy that is making the jump to a truck in the next 2-3 months. I’m already planning a trip to Moab with the family this summer, so the off-road forum as been incredibly helpful finding noob routes and learning about trial ediquitte.

At any rate, I’m hoping to get some specific market intelligence here...

The dealers here in Orange County still seem to think they can sell for MSRP or more. The salesman said they are selling one everyday and they never sell below msrp. But Ive also been lurking on their site and their inventory hasn’t changed in months. I thought maybe they just weren’t updating the site so I paid them a visit today and one of models I have been eyeing is sitting in the corner of lot with a dead battery and covered in dust. Ther must have been at least 30 2019s just sitting around collecting dust (the site was accurate) Anybody have any insight on when these guys will start to get desperate to onload the previous model year? Or should I just start searching out of state for a reasonable deal?

I’m happy to wait a few months and I’m not in a rush.

Cali sucks in many ways and overpriced everything is just one. I left in 1991 after 31 years. But now you have In-n-Out......so all is forgiven. Now go to Arizona, Texas or Nevada and get your Raptor. Oh, and welcome!

Santa Margarita Ford?

I think you can get them down to MSRP depending on their inventory. I doubt they will go below - almost certain they won't go below.

I would look out of state - there are a few dealers on a FB Raptor site that sells below MSRP and you'd have to ship. I would look out of state or look for a very low mileage used one (potentially also out of state).

in missouri...my dealer stocks 10-15 raptors at any time, and usually has them $5-7k off sticker.

Remember....two Wongs, don't make a right, but two Wright's make an airplane!!!

First, welcome. Second, don't hesitate to go outside of SoCal if dealers want to keep their truck collections. Bought my second Raptor (18') out of state and saved almost 10k. A no brainer but its your money. Don't play their dealer games the ball is in your court you just have to have a little patience....which they hope you do not. Bought mine in AZ and made a road trip out of it. Good luck

Hahahah I thought that I’d heard every Wong joke! My wife will enjoy this one thoroughly. After 6 years of marriage she’s still trying to cope with the reaction she gets when people learn her name before meetIng her for the first time (She’s 100% white bread and I’m half)

Yah that’s actually my local dealer. They offered 1k off msrp on a 2020. But their inventory is actually pretty low. Villa ford is the dealer that seems to be collecting Raptors on their lot.

I found them very fair to deal with. I was looking at a 2020 but really wanted Avalanche Grey - the just so happened to get one in on trade from a repeat customer that day. Long story short, I ended up getting the '17 in Av. Grey with 100K warranty. They didn't really budge on price but did very well on my trade in. I would recommend them pretty highly.. the service department, that part scares me (of Ford dealers in general).
