At what point do we act like adults and take into consideration the audience on this forum. I for one do not have a **** or balls but I enjoy MY Raptor and the info shared on this site minus the child like behavior. And if you guys want to keep going, I am more than happy to let my ovaries roar! We all come from various and diverse backgrounds, give the guy a break. Its his insight he's putting out there. if i'm honest with myself, I did the downpipes and CAI because I'm pretty much running out of shit to upgrade on my truck.

I wanted to clean up the way the engine bay looked, so i cleaned up all my wiring ( adding nice, clean chafe-guard and loom routing, ordered an engine cover for a 19, put the CAI in, went with a much cleaner catch can, did an aluminum coolant overflow tank and cleaned like hell.

while I didn't expect any gains, I got a very noticeable gain.

I was running cobb's OTS stage 2 tune before.

I am running it post upgrades.

It was a very noticeable difference in just about every aspect, except for the extreme top end of the power band, which now feels more sluggish, but that couse be because the map needs to taper off before shift points to not grenade the trans/tcase and to satiate the torque management gods inside the truck.

YMMV, but I was pleasantly surprised.

When you have run out of things to upgrade, I have a truck that you can continue with.

Or just get a new one and start all over again. Let the fun continue...

sorry, dance card is full. Just bought a superduty to tow the raptor and I have a few things planned for it.

and then I'll be practicing some voodoo to try to get Ford to really release a boosted 5.2 raptor. If it comes out, I'll be back-halfing one.

If it doesn't get released in the next couple years, I have every intention of turning one of my 66 galaxies into a ridiculous whoop eater.

no one is out to offend the masses. it's just a little anonymous sword fighting.

a party is always better with some gender diversity, but I think you may find that the creepers will do their creeper thing if you aren't mindful.

Holy crap! This thread is why I was hesitant to get a Raptor. The OP states his experience/credentials and every insecure ***** feels threatened and tries to call him out. Probably because if the OP speaks the truth, they feel less manly/rich/endowed/successful. Let’s just assume he is telling the truth and if not, who cares?

Back on topic. Cobb is a reputable source of information. However, they might have tested under different conditions. For example, intercooler spray can net massive horsepower on a heat soaked IC and little in other cases where evaporative cooling is not as significant.

Similarly, if the OP had a dirty OEM air filter or screwed up MAS, he might experience real gains from upgrading.

On my other vehicle, some CAI’s net decent HP but this is mainly due to allowing more undetected air into the engine. Since the engine runs on the richer side of things, this creates more efficient combustion and decent HP gains. I.e. the intake allows more air and a leaner mixture.


Or maybe he’s just trying to fool everyone to thinking that his intake is good because that’s what he likes to do in his spare time!! That evil genius...

LOL! My lady says the exact same thing! It’s nice they try to reassure us but come on. We all know we didn’t buy the biggest baddest truck because we were adequate in size. It’s the thought that counts.

For guys what gets us mad is that most of the smart-ass replies would never take place in a real person to person exchange...some of the smack talk would result in an ole' fashion ass-whooping in the parking lot...

Glad you like your truck and there are plenty of reasonable owners here to make it good...
