Hi.
Having same problems with hard shifting on my F-150 Raptor 2018 model, special from 4th to 5th gear, but some other gears as well. It`s special hard when doing manual shifting, not that much in Drive. Same if it`s in Sport or Normal mode. Is there a way to update tcm/pcm with the ForScan tool or do i need taking it to the dealer?

I have an 18 with 18k miles and the 4-5 has always been rough. Sometimes when driving around in the city it won’t shift out of gear. I bought the extended warranty and not worried about the reliability especially after attending the Raptor Assault course in Utah and taking one of their 19s through the paces. All the trucks came back in one piece and we beat the crap out of them or at least the one we were driving. I’m sure mine can handle occasional off road use.

My 2018 has had the hard 4-5 shift in Sport mode almost from inception, and has been reflashed many times. It comes back every time. Now, at 33-34k miles, it has started hard down shifts in normal mode from 5-3 and/or 4-3. My wife's '19 Expedition started doing it, too. My Raptor also occasionally at startups/when you first leave somewhere has started a weird laggy/skipping upshift from 1-3. I just had it the dealer two weeks ago, and it was supposed to be re-flashed again, but nothing seems to have changed.

I have a 2017 with 59,500 miles and have had it in the shop 3x for harsh shifting. Everytime its a reflash and they send me down the road. Currently at the shop now and got called today saying they are going to flash it again. Not sure im ok with this outcome. Ill be out of warranty in the next week or 2 so I need to find out what they can do.

Mt 2 cents: You have a very strong argument that Ford/the dealer must carry through with anything you started to address during the warranty period, even after it expired. So document it carefully (send emails, and keep the chain going, very handy as a diary of your issues with date stamps), and make it clear that it is an unresolved issue from prior to warranty expiration.

Man your absolutely right! I've kept all service records and I'm about to start a claim/complaint with Ford. The dealer its currently at told me after my warranty (500 miles) if the issue comes back its not covered. Hell them reflashing it isn't covered. They are charging me $189 because its considered electronic not mechanical.
