The configurator is really a search engine. Why would Ford allow you to search for something that isn't currently available?
Really?...I used to to see what options can be included with what trim levels. For instance it won't allow orange trim interior with race red, or you can't get a moonroof on a 800A. Then there's that pesky pricing.

So why do they launch the configurator for the next MY before they even build the first one?

I won’t, I have no reason to doubt the dealer or Ford’s ordering system.
No, I don't use the search on Ford.com...I want a SCAB and they are so rare the search never returns any, it's limited to 100 mile. I suppose you could enter different zip codes, that too much trouble.
For what I'm looking for the only search that returns any results is Cars.com, AutoTrader.com or of course rapterfinder.
Ruby is actually one of my top choices for a color. I hope it becomes available again, I'm just not holding my breath.
So far since I started looking I've only seen one Ruby SCAB, It was used 801A with 14K on it, they are asking $6K over sticker, so that isn't going to happen. Besides I want a 802, I'm used to all the toys.
I'm in no rush, the last car I bought I research the hell out of it, joined a forum and learned as much as I could about it. Like I'm doing here, if that makes me a troll then I guess I'm a troll. Took me a year to find the one at the price I wanted to pay.
I usually buy a used cars a year or two old. From what I've seen a used trucks, especially a used Gen 2 Raptors is zero deals, so this time it will probably be new. I would like to see prices stabilize a bit, and they are beginning too now, so I'll probably end up ordering.

Just because it didn’t give you the results you wanted doesn’t make it not a search engine.
I guess you're right, I just don't use if for that. What annoys me about it will return a bunch of SCREWs and regular F150s in the color I choose, like color is the only thing that matters. Perhaps there a setting for that. I really haven't mess with it that much. My last car I flew a 1000 miles to get, I fly in and drive out, it's make for a nice vacation. I did the same thing when I bought my Corvette 14 years ago.
