GEN 2 2018 Ruby Red Order

Trying to order my 2018 Ruby Red Screw from my dealer (owned by an golfing buddy) I am being told that 2018 Ruby Red won't begin building until March 2018. Has anyone heard anything similar? I know its not an allocation issue, they always have plenty.

My dealer, who I trust, told me there would be a delay on my 2018 if I ordered Ruby Red.

I was told that the earliest any Ruby Red would be scheduled was Oct 30.

I was too told there was a ruby red delay.. so I changed my 18 order to race red... wife like race red better anyway:

I was also told Ruby Red was late availability, so I went Lightning Blue.

The 2018 order guide states "late availability". Doesn't make sense, the color has been around for a few years. My 2014 GT500 is Ruby Red.

Just looked at the order guide again and Ruby Red is only late availability on the Raptor. In fact doing a quick search nets dealers listing 2018's in Ruby Red with a VIN. WTF Ford?!

Attended Raptor Assault in Utah in May. Guess what color the Raptor I drove was?............

Update

Given the late availability of the Ruby Red, I spent a lot of time this weekend searching raptorfinder, autotrader and shop.ford.com. I was able to locate a 2017 Ruby Red Screw with about the same options as I would have ordered, at a small dealer in Nebraska. That had it listed on their website at MSRP less $500, got them to give me another $500 off of that. Wired them the money and the transporter picks it up tomorrow.
