Did you buy it new? Stock ride height? It’s a 6 year old truck at this point if it was purchased in 2017. Time is a factor in addition to mileage. If it was set up improperly it would have whined from day one.
To be fair this is a semi common issue around here, that's how I was pretty sure that was his issue. Ford definitely has a pinion bearing issue with early failures.

Hey Tim, I had the rear carrier/pinion bearings changed out on my 2018 with 43k miles. It was repaired under factory warranty. Truck is a street queen… and at the time it was bone stock. I think it’s just something that happens occasionally with F150’s. (My buddy’s FX4 had the same problem). Good luck with fix.
